Where we are at 35 days before the wedding

A few weeks from now, the most anticipated big day will finally take place. I realized 5 months of preparation was not so long after all. Yes, we were worried we might not be able to endure the long wait. It was in December of 2012 when we started planning the wedding which original date was September 5 (anniversary of our friendship, 'cause we're sentimental like that hehe). We decided against it because we thought 9 months of waiting is just to much to bear. And then we thought of moving it to March 21 (which is considered our anniversary as bf/gf) but decided it will be too hasty as 3 months of preparation is nearly impossible if you have financial and social issues to think about. That's when we decided to move it to May 21. Five months to prepare. It should be good enough.

So far, I believe we were able to follow our timeline. By the grace of God, we were able to pay the down payments and book the necessary suppliers. Question is, now that it's almost just a month before the wedding, what else are left to do? Help me review the checklist below (in random order):
  • Venue
  • Cater
  • Photo/Video
  • Hair & Make Up
  • Flowers
  • Cake
  • Wedding Coordinator
  • Event Host
  • Wedding Site
  • Invitations
  • Officiant (Pastor)
  • Marriage License
  • Give-away to guests
  • Favor to Sponsors (to be ordered on April 20)
  • Music
  • Hotel accommodation for preps
  • Wedding bands (to be ordered on April 20)
  • Crew Meals (to be ordered on May 20)
  • Wedding Gown
  • Groom's  Barong & Pants
  • Bride's wedding shoes (upon availability of funds)
  • Venue signages
  • Ceremony & reception program
  • Wedding vows (to be accomplished before May 20)
  • Seating chart (to be accomplished before May 6)
  • Honeymoon booking (upon availability of funds)
  • Final guest headcount (to be accomplished before May 6)
  • A home (upon availability of funds)
Did I miss anything? I think we did great for the first 4 months. To be honest, the only concern left is how we are going to pay for the remaining dues with the suppliers. You see this is why it's so important that we know where we stand with regard to the Lord's provision.
Matthew 7:11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
And these promises are enough for us not to worry. If you are going through a situation like this, it might not be a wedding (because interestingly, this event sounds trivial & overrated to some while others talk about it and give their everything for it like it's a life and death situation), whatever situation it is -- something you have been praying for; a job, healing of a serious illness, a spouse, or bondage to debt. Whatever it is, please remember that someone can get you out of that situation. Stop giving yourself the burden of doing everything. Leave it to the Man who created you. He knows how to handle just about anything. Let Him.
