I love my hair so much. I'm one of those who were blessed with naturally wavy hair. While others would have to go to the salon and pay for expensive perming treatments, I would just have to hand-comb mine and it will fall naturally like in the photos above, tied or otherwise. But before you melt with jealousy, calm yourself down. I have a confession to make. I'm suffering from terrible hair fall. It's a shame because my hair strands are already fine as they are so even without the help of hair loss, my locks already lacks in volume. I have been using anti-hair fall conditioner and even other natural hair treatment but to no avail.
I did a fair amount of research until I stumble upon this product. I purchased it from Watsons for around 500Php. This comes in two types: the 3% formula which is recommended for beginners and the 5% formula which obviously is stronger in concentration. According to the leaflet inside the box, results will be visible after around 4-6 weeks of continuous usage.
You are supposed to spray it 8 times on the area where you'd like new hairs to grow, twice a day. I didn't follow this for the simplest reason that after first 2 tries of spraying 8 times, I realized not all of the liquid was absorbed by my scalp. It was too much that some of it tend to flow in other parts of my head even while massaging it in circular motion. I ended up spraying it for only 3-4 times. It's already considered a generous amount to cover the area. I did this in the morning before leaving for work and at night before bed time.
I have finished the bottle after about 5 weeks and to be honest, I have not seen any significant results. Maybe a little of it was my lapse being that I didn't exactly memorize the number of baby hair on that specific part of my head. Currently, when I look at my hair line, I'm seeing baby hairs, a lot of them. I couldn't identify if it's the result of the formula or it's the natural hair growth that one usually sees hugging the forehead. Also, I have read that visibility of results varies from one person to another. Some even waited for 6 months before seeing a significant amount of new hair growing.
Oh well, I guess I have to be more observant next time. I should have taken a "before" and "after" photos to see the difference. I'll give it another try. I'm planning to buy another bottle, with the 5% concentration this time. Also, I might try to follow the 8-spray rule, spraying them with 20 to 30-second interval (to give it time to be absorbed by the scalp) while massaging in circular motion.
Anyway, will post an update after another month or two of consistent usage of Minoxidil.

Happy weekend awesome people and more awesome followers!
My hair fall was significantly reduced when I used Human ♥ Nature Strengthening Shampoo and Conditioner (Peppermint variant). But that was a coupla years ago and I think they've tweaked with the original formula and I haven't tried it yet. Planning to get a bottle after finishing my current shampoo. Will let you know if it still works for me. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, and I am sooooooo jealous of your natural waves! Frustration ko yan sa buhay, di lang talaga ko matuloy-tuloy magpa-digiperm. :p
If that's the case, you have to get back to me with a feedback! Let me know! My concern about using other shampoos is that I tend to acquire dandruff. So as not to look like plugging the product, I just won't mention the name but I have been using this particular shampoo for a decade now. I couldn't shift to other shampoo cos everytime I try, dandruff-feast naman ang problema ko. But I'm so willing to try your suggestion.
DeleteShameless plugging aside, here are some of my past blog posts about the said shampoo (because I just loved it so much I had to blog about it more than once):

Shining Shimmering Splendid (Hair)
Shiny Hair even w/o flash
Hope that helps! :)
Wow ha. Shiny shiny nga. Interesting shampoo. OK let me know if it's still as strengthening as it used to be. :) Thanks for sharing!
DeleteJellybelly wants to try this one, yeah we saw it at Watson's too. He also wants to try Novuhair, but it's always out of stock.
ReplyDeleteNot to mention it's insanely expensive. :)
Deletei suffer from hair fall too but since makapal yung buhok ko, i can barely feel its effects. your curls are such a beauty to look at! i hope the product works for you because it can be so annoying seeing hair strands stick to your comb every time you fix your hair.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Though technically, I don't see hair strands on my comb because I don't comb my hair. Haha I finger comb it and that's where I see a lot of tangled fallen hair.
DeleteWow, I'm kinda envious of naturally wavy hair! Sad to know about your hair fall problem though, I can't offer any suggestions so I'm just hoping you find a product that works for you soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you dear :)
DeleteHair fall! Pet peeve. I have tried one product, but I stopped since I developed dandruff from using it. Meron din di ba sa mga botica, yung ina advertise sa TV. ANu nga yun? Pero mahal. I am looking forward to your review.
ReplyDeleteI think you're talking about Novuhair. Yes very expensive. If this thing still won't work, I might try that one.
DeleteI don't have thinning hair problems but a friend does. Guy sya tapos nagkaron ata sya ng early onset alopecia, as in sobrang nakalbo na yung hair nya on top, mala-Gil guys. He used novuhair tapos nung nagkita kami, hindi ko napigilan ang sarili ko. Feeling ko nga it was impolite of me to say, "Uuuuy, may hair ka na!"
ReplyDeletePero I told him that out of excitement, kasi he looked like his age na, unlike before. I know it's expensive but maybe it's worth it.
Yup, I'm thinking of resorting to it if the situation calls :) Thanks!

ReplyDeleteIt is really helpful post! According to me, head massage is a best hair fall treatment. Massaging your scalp for a few minutes daily will help stimulate circulation. Good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active.
ReplyDeleteChute de cheveux
are you still using regroe? what's the update?
ReplyDeletecan this be use for treating alopecia as well?
