Krazy Garlik was not so crazy after all

It was my first to sample this restaurant last weekend. In fact, it was my first to hear of it. Last Saturday, Ralph and I went to Newport Mall, Resorts World Manila with Owel and Claro to watch a movie. The plan was to watch Percy Jackson but we ended up seeing Star Cinema's Bakit Di Ka Crush ng Crush Mo. Don't ask. No point in whining, we enjoyed the movie anyway. After the movie, we went straight to Krazy Garlik.

Here, I'll provide a brief run down of what we ordered and how the dishes fared for our rather sensitive taste-buds. Of course, the guys ordered rice. Apparently, this bowl which was supposedly good for 2-3 persons wasn't enough so they ordered 2 more servings of plain rice..

and Honey Fried Chicken (395Php) swimming in sumptuous and quite unique tasting garlic cream sauce. And yes, garlic toppings.

Being that lately I have been trying to sample this dish from different food houses, I tried their version of Pad Thai (made of flat noodles, bean sprout, cilantro, peanuts, shrimp, & chicken in tamarind shrimp sauce wrapped in egg crepe) for 350Php. Initially it was delish until I have fully consumed the spicy sauce. The spice was too painful for my liking, sadly.

This is what I loved the most -- Stuffed Pechay (295Php). It's basically pechay leaves stuffed with ground pork and smoked fish simmered in coco chili cream sauce. I'd say this one's a must-try.

The verdict:

Taste: ●●●●○
Though I was dissatisfied with the Pad Thai, I'd say I might come back to try other dishes they serve. The chicken, though very simple, was good. I already mentioned how much I liked the Stuffed Pechay.

Location: ●●
All three branches are not accessible from our place (Ortigas Extension, Pasig).

Service: ●●●●
We were taken care of very well and it reflected on the service charge inked in our bill that could have almost covered for a bucket of chicken had we chosen to eat in KFC. Hash-tag just saying.

Value for money: ●●
Since Krazy Garlik is part of the Bistro group (along with TGIF), needless to say it's considered pricey. With that kind of price you would expect their servings to at least compensate, too bad it's the otherwise.
